LeadAcidBatteryInfo.org is a project of the Battery Council International, a trade organization that brings together the leading lead-acid battery manufacturers in North American and other industry leaders from around the world. 

BCI provides information and resources on the industry to numerous outside organizations and researchers.  It also supported a 2005 study that found that the lead-acid battery is the most-recycled product in the United States.

LeadAcidBatteryInfo.org aims to be a resource and education tool for anyone who wants to learn more, or teach about the lead-acid battery and its myriad uses in transportation (including the hybrid car), power systems, communications including telephone systems, and as backup power for conventional uses such as hospital power supplies, as well as in alternative energy options such as solar power.
